科技文化节“英语翻译官”活动圆满落幕
随着科技文化节的深入开展，一场别开生面的“英语翻译官”比拼活动在华南师大附中五山校区初中部火热举行。本次活动旨在提升学生的英语词汇量和翻译技能，同时锻炼他们的快速反应能力和公众表达能力，吸引了众多初中生积极参与。
活动初赛于5月17日进行，通过笔试选拔的方式，初一初二年级各班选拔出一名优秀代表晋级决赛。最终，24位选手脱颖而出，代表班级参加5月25日的现场决赛。

他们随机组成6支队伍，每支队伍由七年级和八年级各2名代表组成。决赛环节包括团队赛和个人赛两个部分。其中团队赛中6支队伍两两PK，胜出的3支队伍直接晋级，而落败的队伍则进入复活赛。经过激烈的角逐，最终4支队伍晋级，进入第二轮淘汰赛。在第一轮词汇比拼中，选手们根据一体机屏幕提示快速准确地选出正确答案，展现了出色的英语词汇积累和快速反应能力。第二轮淘汰赛则采用更为激烈的“拼语块”语用PK形式，让选手们在团队合作和个人能力展示上均得到了充分锻炼。

六支队伍经过多轮激烈角逐，最终产生了团队赛特等奖1名、一等奖3名、二等奖2名，由姚训琪校长，黄爱国副校长，奥校工作处马腾冰副主任分别为获奖的队伍颁奖。其中获得团队赛特等奖的是由初二(7)班郑梓烨、初二(6)班何佩霖、初一(2)班张丽婷、初一(8)班彭楚睿组成的紫队。

团队赛后，根据第一轮比拼表现，6支队伍中个人得分最高的6名代表参加最后一轮个人赛比拼，题型采用“语境选词”语用PK，根据得分评选个人赛特等奖1名，一等奖2名，二等奖3名。选手们在有限时间内根据句子语境选出最合适的词块补全句子意思，这个高难度的挑战要求选手们不但要具备过硬的知识储备，还对阅读速度和理解力提出了更高的要求，是对选手们综合实力的全方位考验。最终，6位优秀代表经过有趣刺激的淘汰赛，最终由初二（8）班的吴诗琪同学夺冠，取得了大赛个人特等奖。

此外，为了让更多的观众参与到活动中来，活动还设置了观众互动环节。主持人邀请感兴趣的观众上台参与词汇比拼体验活动，每场时间控制在2分钟，参与的观众可获得1张奖票，获胜的观众则可获得2张奖票。这一环节不仅增加了活动的趣味性，也让更多的人感受到了英语学习的魅力。

活动结束后，选手们纷纷表示这次比拼活动带来了很多不一样的惊喜，初二8班吴诗琪同学提到最令她感觉耳目一新的是科技的助力。“有了技术支持，我们的比拼都能在点击中完成，内容更加丰富多元，能够更加充分地发挥出选手们的实力，展现翻译官们的风采！其次在团队协作中，队友们的齐心协力，互相支持也让我懂得了凝聚力才是一个团队的核心，提高了我们团队合作的能力。同时这次活动也加强了初一初二同学的交流，让我认识了许多优秀的学弟学妹们，拓宽了人际关系。每一次英语学科比拼活动都带给了我不同方面的成长，希望‘英语翻译官’活动能够使更多同学体会到英语学习的乐趣。Enjoy learning English！”
本次“英语翻译官”比拼活动不仅为学生们提供了一个展示自我、锻炼能力的平台，也进一步激发了他们学习英语的兴趣和热情。相信在未来的日子里，这些优秀的选手们将在英语学习的道路上不断前行，取得更加辉煌的成绩。

【初一5班 孟炜博】
十分荣幸能够代表我们初一（5）班参加“英语翻译官”比赛。通过参加这次活动，我收获颇丰。
在正式比赛前，我们班内先组织了一场选拔赛。一开始，我也没想过能够选上，毕竟班里个个都是英语“大神”。直到选拔结果出来，我作为唯一人选代表班级参赛，意外、兴奋的同时更感到一丝紧张。为了在比赛中有更好的发挥，我认真准备，在课余时间我会主动请教班里的英语“大神”，在他们的帮助下，我有了足够的信心。科技节那天的正式比赛中，面对强大的初一、初二选手特别是奥班的同学，看着他们行云流水般的答题，我紧张跳动的心像要蹦出来似的。但我很快调整好自己的情绪，慢慢冷静下来，渐渐适应了比赛节奏和环境，很快追上了对手的步伐。最后在个人赛和团体赛中都取得了一等奖的好成绩。虽然与特等奖失之交臂，但这场比赛却给我带来独特的体验。
英语，不仅是一种工具，更是一种文化，它让我们与外国人的交流更加方便。这次比赛，对我来说，是一次难得的磨练机会，既积累了参赛经验、收获了友谊，也让我发现了自己与他人的差距。感谢老师的鼓励与信任，感谢同学们的支持与帮助，相信今后在老师的教导与同学的帮助下，我的英语学习能够更上一层楼。

I think this contest is a great opportunity for me to improve my English vocabulary
and stage experience.
The audience made the atmosphere less stressful by cheering and clapping their handswhenever there’s something really funny. They made me feel at home. Even the
the school teachers, including the headmaster came to watch us. The headmaster was
just behind me! How special is that!
In the first round, my team fought against the orange team. It was an easy win for us.
But the second round was a tough one. We fought hard, while the first two games ended with 1:1. Then it was time for me to go up the stage and compete for my team. It was up to me to decide whether my team will go on to play in the finals. With most of the hope of the team, I was pretty nervous. In fact, my legs were shaking violently.
The game has begun! Words popped up on the screen. At first, I was thoughtless.
“What should I do?”I muttered to myself. Then I quickly took a breath to calm myself down. It really worked. Soon, I completed the puzzle with ease. Questions after
questions, I was able to answer them without thinking. But disaster quickly struck.
I made a careless mistake, which meant my opponent could win just by finishing it
with full mark. I could do nothing but just to make sure the rest of my answers were
correct and pray for my opponent to make a mistake. As the game came to an end,
I decided to be more carefully this time. Finally, I placed the last word into the blank. I stepped back and looked at my opponent. He was still three questions behind me.
It was a good game.The results came out and I lost by one point -- that one mistake
that I carelessly made. We were 1:2 behind our opponents. It was up to Number 4 in
our team to make us a tie. That’s our only hope. But unfortunately, he made a draw
with his opponent, which meant both teams didn’t get any point on that game.
Although l didn’t take home the the big “Special Award” cup, I took something more
important and more valuable than that—teamwork and carefulness. I couldn’t win the first round without my teammates and we could have won the second round if I were
more careful. But all in all, this activity was excellent! We all had a wonderful time
there!
【初二12班 周钧雨】
本次科技节，我代表班级参加了“英语翻译官”比拼。作为参赛者，我从中受益匪浅。这次比赛不仅为我们提供了一个展示自己能力的平台，也给我们带来了许多宝贵的心得。
这次比赛有两种题型，一种是中译英和英译中，还有一种是拼词组。这样的比赛能够比拼出我们的综合实力。这也让我们有机会接触到更广泛的英语学习内容，促进我们全面发展。
其次，这次比赛让我意识到了自己的不足。比赛之前我花了大量时间准备，比赛时却发现有一些不在课本上的词组，这让我有些手忙脚乱。这让我意识到，单纯靠课本上的内容是远远不够的，要想在英语上有所突破，平时还要多多积累。
此外，这次比赛还给予我许多宝贵的比赛经验。比赛中，我学会了如何快速组织自己的思维，在紧张的氛围下保持冷静，并在短时间内找到答案。这些经验将对我今后的学习大有裨益。
总之，这是一次富有意义的经历，让我们发挥自己的潜力，挑战自己的极限。通过这次活动，我真正体会到了英语学习的趣味性和重要性。在未来，我将继续保持学习的热情，不断提高自己的英语能力。

Embracing the Spirit of Technology and Teamwork
The Science and Technology Festival was an exhilarating journey that started with a rigorous class test to select our team. Finally, a small group of us emerged as the chosen ones, ready to take on the challenge.
The competition itself was a roller-coaster of emotions. We started with the preliminary rounds, where the pressure was palpable, but our spirits were high. Despite facing setbacks, we never lost our resolve. The team spirit was evident as we encouraged one another, shared ideas, and worked collaboratively to overcome each hurdle. The resurrection round was a second chance, and we seized it with renewed vigor, proving our resilience. The elimination rounds were the most nerve-wracking, with each round bringing us closer to victory or defeat. Yet, it was in these moments of tension that our team's unity shone the brightest. We supported each other, shared the burden of mistakes, and celebrated small victories together. Our collective efforts culminated in winning the first prize, a moment of triumph that was not just an individual achievement but a collective triumph.
Reflecting on the experience, it was clear that our success was not just about winning. It was about the growth we experienced along the way. We learned the importance of increasing our problem-solving speed and understanding the methods to achieve higher accuracy. The competition was a lesson in perseverance, teamwork, and mutual support. It was a reminder that in the face of challenges, it is the collective strength and the spirit of collaboration that can lead to success. We emerged not only as winners but as a stronger, more cohesive team, ready to tackle future challenges with the same spirit of unity and determination.
